Today marks the anniversary of a very special day. On April 3, 1836, the Lord appeared to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery in the Kirtland Temple. Moses, Elias, and Elijah also appeared and committed the keys to their dispensations. Elijah’s appearance in the Kirtland Temple fulfilled the prophecies found in Malachi 3:1 and 4:5-6. January through May of 1836 was a time of great spiritual blessings and manifestations for the Latter-day Saints in Kirtland, Ohio, similar to the spiritual outpouring in Acts 2:1-4.
